Filmmakers & Screenwriters have until July 31st to get their films and screenplays into NYC if they wish to be part of the 19th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival taking place in over 250 cinemas across 6 continents, Sept 23 - Oct 2, 2016.
MANHATTAN SHORT is not only one of the largest short film festivals in the world today, but also the world’s first and only global film festival. Over 100,000 film lovers worldwide will be in attendance, each ready to vote for their favorite of the screened films. After the votes are tallied, the winning film will be announced from the Festival's headquarters in New York City. If the film festival experience truly is about getting great works in front of as many people as possible, MANHATTAN SHORT offers the ultimate platform -- with films screened in Art House Cinemas in Sydney, Mumbai, Moscow, Vienna, London, Buenos Aires, and Kathmandu as well as over 150 cinemas in all 50 of the United States. Visit www.ManhattanShort.com for a list of venues.
Hailed in the press as "the world's most people-powered film festival" numerous finalists have gone on to earn Academy Awards. MANHATTAN SHORT is not a touring festival; rather, it is a celebration that occurs simultaneously across the globe, bringing great films to hundreds of venues and allowing the audience to vote their favorites film and actor/actress. The top three films will be awarded MANHATTAN SHORT's Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, but the true prize is in the worldwide exposure that accelerates careers and connects great filmmakers with filmgoers. MANHATTAN SHORT is a worldwide phenomenon that brings people together.
“One of the most important festivals on the circuit. Films are made to be seen and MANHATTAN SHORT guarantees unrivalled exposure.” Jamie Donoughue, Writer & Director, SHOK (Silver Medal Winner 2015, Oscar Nomination 2016)
