NOVEDADES DESDE CINEQUEST EN CALIFORNIA (USA)
¿Por qué hago esto? Esa es una pregunta muy apropiado para mí hoy en día. ¿Por qué me mira cientos de películas al año hasta lo que me gusta llamar "CineBurn" fija y me gustaría tener surtida mejor en Visine? ¿Por qué? Sencillamente porque cuando veo una película que me emociona, me desafíos más importantes o se conecta emocionalmente conmigo, quiero que los demás a compartir esa experiencia y ser tan afectados como yo cuando vi la película. Una vez más, tres películas que debutó en el Cinequest están llegando a un público más amplio a través de DVD y películas estrenadas. Why am I doing this? That's a very appropriate question for me nowadays. Why do I watch hundreds of films a year until what I like to call "CineBurn" sets in and I wish I had stocked up better on Visine?
Why? Quite simply because when I see a film that excites me, challenges me or most important connects with me emotionally, I want others to share in that experience and to be just as affected as I was when I watched the film.
Once more, three films which debuted at Cinequest are reaching wider audiences via DVD and theatrical releases. And that makes all of our staff proud of the work we have been doing to discover, empower and connect Maverick artists and their audiences.
First up, the Director's New Visions Winner from Cinequest 19, Tom Huang's comedy WHY AM I DOING THIS?, which was released on DVD on July 13th, and follows the exploits of a struggling African American comedian and a struggling Asian American actor in what the Boston Herald calls "a raucous look at life in Los Angeles for an actor...". We loved it. The Cinequest audience loved it. And who doesn't need a good comedy to enjoy?
I am also exceptionally excited about Cullen Hoback's new release. We have premiered three of his features, starting with FREEDOM STATE (available through our own Cinequest Distribution), followed by MONSTER CAMP, and Cullen's latest FRICTION, which will soon be available via DVD and theatrical. I highly recommend you to check out his new film as soon as you can. Wildly loved by both critics and audiences who have already seen it, FRICTION is refreshing in its originality and happens to be by one of my personal favorite filmmakers.
Also released on DVD July 13th, April Wright's LAYOVER offers an inventive and intimate portrait of two people stranded in an airport, only to find that they are connected in more ways than they could imagine. LAYOVER had audiences speechless after its premiere and found it still on their minds days after. It will transform you.
