El Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara, en su edición 30 (FICG30), se complace en anunciar las personalidades que conformarán al Jurado de la sección Largometraje Iberoamericano de Ficción. En esta categoría se otorgan los premios a la Mejor Película, Premio especial del jurado, Mejor Director, Mejor ópera Prima y el Premios del Público en Infinitum.

El maestro Alfonso Arau es poseedor de un invaluable prestigio mundial obtenido a través de una brillante y prolífica trayectoria artística como actor, bailarín, mimo, director, productor y guionista de cine y teatro. Su filme Como Agua Para Chocolate abrió las puertas del mercado mundial al cine mexicano y aún ostenta el récord de la película más taquillera en idioma Español. Alfonso Arau ha obtenido siete Arieles de la academia Mexicana de Ciencias y artes Cinematográficas y numerosos premios internacionales de cine y teatro.
Como director, Arau ha realizado memorables filmes como Un Paseo por las Nubes, con Keanu Reeves y Anthony Quinn y Picking Up the Pieces con Woody Allen, entre otras. Como actor ha participado en más de 20 películas entre ellas Mojado Power, El Rincón de las Vírgenes, Tivoli, Calzonzin Inspector, El Topo, Romancing the Stone y Three Amigos.
Como empresario, es fundador y presidente de la cadena de cines populares Cinelux digital y de la Fundación Cidilux, a.C. Jon Bowman, director ejecutivo del Festival internacional de Cine de santa Fe, Nuevo México, dijo al entregarle el Premio “luminaria”: “Arau es verdaderamente un artista renacentista, con una profunda e innata comprensión de todas las fases del medio cinemático”.
Alfonso Arau's brilliant and prolific career as actor, dancer, mime, director, producer and screenwriter for cinema and theater has earned him invaluable world-class prestige.
His film Como agua para chocolate (Like water for chocolate) opened the gates for Mexican cinema to the international market and is still one of the best selling movies in Spanish language. Alfonso Arau has been awarded with seven Ariels by the Mexican Academy of Science and Cinematographic Art (Academia Mexicana de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas), as well as numerous cinema and theater international prizes.
As director, Arau has made a series of memorable films such as: Un paseo por las nubes (A walk in the clouds), with Keanu Reeves and Anthony Quinn, and Picking up the pieces with Woody Allen, among others. As actor, he has participated in more than twenty movies, like Mojado Power, El Rincón de las Vírgenes, Tivoli, Calzonzin Inspector, El Topo, Romancing the Stone, and Three amigos.
As entrepreneur, he is the founder and president of the popular cinema-theater's firm Cinelux Digital and the Foundation Cidilux, A.C.Jon Bowman, Executive Director of Santa Fe's International Film Festival in New Mexico, said when he was granting him the "Luminaria" prize: "Arau is truly a Renaissance artist with a profound and innate understanding of all the stages of the cinematographic medium".

Laura Astorga Carrera (Costa Rica, 1975) es directora de cine, guionista, activista de derechos humanos, discapacidad y feminismo. Astorga es la realizadora del filme Princesas Rojas (2013), la cual tuvo su premier mundial en el Festival internacional de Cine de Berlín y fue galardonada en distintos festivales internacionales de cine como Mejor ópera Prima en el Festival internacional de Cine de los ángeles (EE. UU.) y en el Festival de Cine latinoamericano y Caribeño de Margarita (Venezuela), entre otros.
Princesas Rojas fue la entrada oficial de Costa Rica en la entrega 87 de los premios Oscar de la academia en la categoría Mejor Película extranjera. Laura ha sido jurado en distintos festivales internacionales como Festival de Cine de Berlín 2014 (Alemania), Festival ícaro (Nicaragua), Festival internacional de Cortometrajes Hayah (Panamá), 7mo Festival de Cine latinoamericano y Caribeño de Margarita (Venezuela).
La premier mundial de su cortometraje Ellas se aman fue en el Festival internacional de Cine de Locarno (2008). Fue mostrado en festivales como san Francisco, Mar de Plata, Madrid, Torino, Bilbao, sao Paulo y Londres, entre otros.
Laura Astorga Carrera (Costa Rica, 1975) is a film director, screenwriter, human rights, disability and feminist activist. Astorga is the director of the feature film Red Princesses (2013), which was worldwide released worldwide at the Berlin International Film Festival and was awarded as Best Opera Prima in Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (usa) and the Festival de Cine Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Margarita (Venezuela), among others.
Red Princesses was Costa Rica’s official selection for the 87th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film competition. Laura Astorga has been a juror in various international film festivals such as: the Berlin International Film Festival 2014 (Germany), Ícaro Festival (Nicaragua), Hayah International Short Film Festival (Panama) and the 7th Festival de Cine Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Margarita (Venezuela).
The worldwide premier of her short movie Ellas se aman (They love each other) featured at Locarno's International Film Festival (2008); and was shown in different films festivals like San Francisco, Mar del plata, Madrid, Torino, Bilbao, Sao Paulo y London, among others.

Jacopo Quadri ha editado más de 60 películas y documentales, que se han presentado en los más prestigiosos festivales de cine a nivel internacional y ha recibido una gran cantidad de premios, incluyendo el Gran Premio del Jurado por Morte di un matematico napoletano de Mario Martone. Ha trabajado con directores de la talla de Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bechis, Paolo Virzi, Zhang Yuan, Apichatpong Weerasethakul y muchos otros. Dirigió el documental Saharawi, voci distanti dal mare (1997), La terra trema (1998) y Un posto al mondo (2000).
En este momento es presidente de la Asociación “Ubu per Franco Quadri” que cada año acoge los Ubu Teatre Awards. También se encuentra dirigiendo y editando su segundo largometraje documental acerca del fundador del Teatro Odin, Eugenio Barba, Secret People of Odin

Was born in Buenos Aires in 1980. His career started alternating between independent cinema productions and big publicity commercials for Argentina and places abroad. At the beginning of 2007, he founded his own production company: Magma Cine S. R. L., in partnership with Pablo Fendrik and Nathalia Videla Peña.

Michael J. Kutza (born 1940) is a filmmaker, critic, graphic designer and the founder of the Chicago International Film Festival. In addition, he has been involved in other film festivals internationally, in such diverse locations as Taormina, Tehran, Moscow, Manila Bogota, Los Angeles, Cannes, Berlin and Jerusalem, and has served as an advisor to a number of other festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival and the Locarno International Film Festival.
In 1977 he was a member of the jury at the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. From 1979 to 1991, he served the Italian journal II Tempo as its American film correspondent. He has received numerous honors for cultural achievements
