Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, Mount Prospect, Illinois
What is Blue Whiskey? It’s bold. It’s complex. It’s dignified. Aged 8 years on the outskirts of Chicago, Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival is seeking bold and innovative films that utilize story elements in a new and exciting way. Blue Whiskey is about character-driven independent cinema that is fueled by the filmmaker's passion for the art without large studio support.
Rated one of the Top 100 Best Reviewed festivals on FilmFreeway, Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival continues to build a reputation for exhibiting rare and compelling independent films while bridging the gap between the film-goer and the filmmaker.
Blue Whiskey is a film festival founded by independent filmmakers that care about providing an intimate setting for filmmakers to connect with their audience. That is why each film selected for exhibition and competition is screened in one theater over the course of eight days, with no competing screenings in our schedule. Additionally, festival judges experience each film for the first time along with the audience and moderate Q&A’s with filmmakers.
Blue Whiskey presents its 2017 festival from July 23 - 30 at the AMC Randhurst 12 in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The festival regularly exhibits 30-40 films over eight days from around the globe that compete for up to twenty Blue Glass award categories, including an Audience Favorite Award.
