JOHN TURTURRO CAREER ACHIEVEMENT TRIBUTE
It is our distinct honor to celebrate and highlight actor and filmmaker John Turturro, a double Cannes winner (as Best Actor for Barton Fink in 1992 and Camera d’Or winner as Best First Feature Film director in 1993 for Mac), who will present his latest directorial achievement, Fading Gigolo. Following the screening, a “Career Achievement Tribute” Party in Turturro’s honor, will be held at the stunning Epic Hotel, sponsored by 88 RUE DU RHONE and hosted by Area 31 Restaurant.

Seleccionados Talents Guadalajara 2014
El Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara FICG29, en colaboración con Berlinale Talents, del Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín y el apoyo del Programa Ibermedia, el Goethe-Institut México y la Federación Internacional de Críticos Cinematográficos FIPRESCI, se complacen en anunciar los nombres de los cineastas, actores y críticos cinematográficos seleccionados al Talents Guadalajara 2014.
Talents Guadalajara es un evento de perfeccionamiento cinematográfico entre reconocidos expertos del séptimo arte y cineastas, actores y críticos cinematográficos emergentes originarios de Centroamérica, México y el Caribe.
Este año, el comité de selección del Talents Guadalajara estuvo integrado por Aurora Guerrero (Directora), Catalina López (Actriz), Alfonso Suárez (Guionista), Nerio Barberis (Diseñador de Sonido) y Roberto Fiesco (Productor y Director). Así como Chiara Arroyo, José Carlos Avellar y Orlando Mora (Críticos cinematográficos) en el ídem del Talent Press Guadalajara.
La selección de los participantes se basó en su potencial creativo, propuesta y experiencia en el medio cinematográfico. Además, se buscó seleccionar en la medida de lo posible un grupo heterogéneo de rubros y nacionalidades.
Talents Guadalajara tiene un cupo limitado, por lo que el rechazo a participar no determina la ausencia de calidad en la solicitud presentada. El fallo del comité es inapelable

Resultados de la 17 ª reunión los expertos de las visiones de los fondos suizos Sud Est

Durante su 17 ª reunión los expertos de las visiones de los fondos suizos Sud Est han decidido apoyar a siete nuevos proyectos.
Desde su creación en la primavera de 2005 el Fondo de Visions Sud Est ha apoyado 86 proyectos en el Sur y el Este. Más de 60 de estas películas han sido logradas y muchos han sido invitados a numerosos festivales de todo el mundo, algunos siendo galardonado con premios como el Oso de Oro en Berlín, la Concha de Oro en San Sebastián, el Premio Negro Perla en Abu Dhabi o el Premio Kapok oro en Guangzhou. De Cannes a Venecia, desde Busan a Toronto, logotipo visions sud est de se ha visto en todas partes. Más de la mitad de los filmes realizados ya se han distribuido y puesto en libertad en los cines suizos. Con la colaboración de Puertas Abiertas en el Festival del Cine de Locarno, proyectos adicionales son elegidos y apoyados. Aparte de apoyar la producción de estos proyectos, es objetivo visions sud est de mejorar el desarrollo de las estructuras de producción locales y brindar directores de cine la posibilidad de inmiscuirse en el mercado cinematográfico internacional. El est visiones de fondos sud es una iniciativa conjunta de la Fundación Trigon-film, los festivales de Friburgo, Locarno y Nyon y la Agencia Suiza para el Desarrollo y la Cooperación (COSUDE). En su última sesión sud est visiones ha decidido apoyar cinco películas de ficción, tres en producción, dos en postproducción, y dos documentales en postproducción, con un total de 210'000 francos suizos:

During its 17th session the experts of the Swiss fund visions sud est have decided to support seven new projects.
Since its creation in spring 2005 the fund of visions sud est has supported 86 projects from the South and East. More than 60 of these films have been accomplished and many have been invited to numerous festivals around the world, some being awarded with prizes such as the Golden Bear in Berlin, the Golden Conch in San Sebastian, the Black Pearl Award in Abu Dhabi or the Golden Kapok Award in Guangzhou. From Cannes to Venice, from Busan to Toronto, visions sud est's logo has been seen everywhere. More than half of the accomplished films have already been distributed and released in Swiss cinemas. In collaboration with Open Doors at the Festival del Film Locarno, additional projects are elected and supported. Apart from supporting the production of these projects, it is visions sud est's goal to enhance the development of local production structures and to offer film directors a possibility to intrude into the international film market. The fund visions sud est is a joint initiative by the trigon-film foundation, the festivals of Fribourg, Locarno and Nyon and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). At its last session visions sud est has decided to support five fictional films, three in production, two in postproduction, and two documentary films in postproduction, with a total of 210'000 Swiss francs:

PROXIMO ESTRENO DEL CINE NICOLEÑO ¨PETROLEO¨ DEL DIRECTOR NICOLAS BALLISTERI
Finalmente después de casi 4 años desde que leyó el cuento de Hector Tizón, el director nicoleño Nicolas Ballisteri concluyo el rodaje de su nuevo largometraje. Mas de 70 personas trabajaron en esta producción independiente que próximamente se estrenara en la ciudad bonaerense y seguramente recorrerá festivales.

SOUL OF A BANQUET, a film by Wayne Wang
We are partnering with our friends at Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival to bring acclaimed filmmaker Wayne Wang's (The Joy Luck Club) latest film, Soul of a Banquet to kick-off the 2nd year of MIFF’s Lee Brian Schrager’s Culinary Cinema program presented by Plymouth Gin, curated by Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival founder Lee Schrager, continuing at MIFF's 31st edition. Wang presents the amazing story of chef Cecilia Chiang, known for introducing America to authentic Chinese food, and the personal triumphs and heartbreaks that have gone into the creation of her remarkable cuisine. Both Wang and Chiang will be present, as well as food-world notables Ruth Reichl and Michael Murphy.

Talents Guadalajara extiende publicación de resultados

El Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara FICG 29 informa que la publicación de resultados para asistir al sexto encuentro entre cineastas, actores y críticos cinematográficos: Talents Guadalajara 2014, se extiende hasta el próximo viernes 31 de enero del 2014.
Esto se decidió debido a la gran cantidad y calidad de inscripciones recibidas, lo cual significó un periodo de tiempo más extenso en el proceso de evaluación.
Los resultados se darán a conocer ese día vía correo electrónico a los interesados y a través de la publicación en la página electrónica del FICG.
